so I finally made it here. I've been reading in this forum for quite a while, but never registered. But I think its a good thing to have people judge my singing who understand it, not like most people I know.
My language might seem strange to you sometimes, its because I'm from Germany. Maybe I can improve that, two? We'll see. So, if something sounds strange to you, better ask, it's probably my English abandonning me. Or my sometimes weird humor of which I should warn you. I don't mean any harm.
I've been learning western overtone-singing for 1,5 months, I think, and startet learning the Tuvan style last week. I also tried western style kargyraa (is there such a thing?) for 3 or 4 weeks. So those are my basics. I know about the crash course, I just hadn't had the time to listen to it, and I can't afford the online-lessons right now, so I have to do it without. I just tried to copy what I heard of other singers.
What brings me to the question, how I got into this khoomei-thing. It's the fault of Albert Kuvezin and Yat-Kha. From there, the rest of tuvan music wasn't so hard to find.
As soon as I figure out how to upload a file, I will show you an example of em singing.
For recordings, I use a Zoom H2 Handyrecorder and Audacity for editing (which actually is just normalising).
I hope we will all become friends.
