so you're looking for a bass voice.
I'm aware that it may be a dream more than a real possibility, though... If you listened to some of the stuff that my italian friends do with their traditional polyphonic singing, you have an idea of what it is. When I am with them, the group I feel most attracted to (in terms of voice) is the dozen of bass guys. I 'hear' them better than the tenors.
That kind of voice has a very strong grounding effect on me, and I suppose my attraction for it might be expressing the importance and need for grounding at this stage in my life...

There are tricks, like strohbass. I'm studying it in the last months, but I'm unsure if it can damage the voice. It's like the screaming techniques: somebody will not be affected like all these growlers around. Some will damage their voice. So I don't know if I should suggest. Sometimes I'm afraid for me too. The idea is to make parts of your throat resonate at a fraction of the vocal folds frequency. But my doctor said that maybe you find they resonate that way when you don't want to. My granmother has a male voice eversince and I think she has this phenomenon.
Maybe Kargyraa (partially works on the same principle) is a better choice because we have official advisors here.
Strohbass seems to resemble Tuvan singing, and if I'm correct, it's what I'm struggling with at the moment. I can produce the basis of it for a short while, but don't really succeed in adding a vocalized 'a' or 'o' on top of that (yet?). As soon as my throat gets a tad tense, it stops. Sofar there is no risk of damage as I don't force it, and I'll keep practicing that way. To be able to do it, I first practice mental and physical relaxation, and try to remain in that state.
Thanks for the info and suggestions, and I hope I can upload some results soon, so you can see what makes my cat happy!
