Chirgilchin - Will Teach

Postby hjernespiser » Wed Sep 20, 2006 4:07 am

I received a new Chirgilchin CD tonight. It is called "Will Teach". I want to announce this one before even listening through the whole thing and writing a review because this is neat. The CD features solo examples of different styles of throatsinging by the different members of Chirgilchin. It also has some solo instrument performances plus two songs by students from the camp (Seth Augustus and Soriah).

More later...

Just email Sasha to purchase a copy if it isn't on the website yet.

Here's a track listing:

1- Kargyraa and Khoomei - Mongoun-ool Ondar
2- Khoomei and Borbannadyr - ""
3- Damyrak and Borbannadyr - ""
4- Buga Khoomei - ""
5- Sygyt and Borbannadyr - ""
6- Kargyraa, Khoomei, and Borbannadyr - ""
7- Kargyraa, Damyrak and Borbannadyr - ""
8- Sygyt - Igor Koshkendey
9- Ezengileer - ""
10- Byrlang Khoomei - ""
11- Doshpoulour - ""
12- Igil - ""
13- Kargyraa - Aldar Tamdyn
14- Byzaanchy - ""
15- Igils Duet - Igor Koshkendey and Mongoun-ool Ondar - ""
16- Solo - Enrique Ugalde (Soriah)
17- Slim Sam - Seth Augusuts, Jon Weiss

Needless to say, Mongun-ool goes to town on this CD with all his different styles. It is a rather unique CD since most of the tracks aren't attempting to be songs.

Looks a nice record to have.
I need some advice please.
1. who is Sasha
2. I live segregated from modern world and delivery cost for one CD on amazon was 20 USD. So anyone suggest me your top ten "Khoomei" records and maybe I take one delivery instead of ten.
Thanks!

CDs to get...

-The Orphan's Lament by Huun Huur Tu was my first Tuvan CD and still one of my favorites, certainly my top HHT pick.
-Yat-Kha Tuva.Rock and Aldyn Dashka
-Sabjilar's Syr Chome album
-Chirgilchin's Collectible album

Those last two are Pure Nature Music CDs, which unfortunately aren't available on Amazon. The best way to get PNM CDs is to email Sasha (the address is on the website). Sasha was a founding member of Huun Huur Tu, as was Albert Kuvezin from Yat-Kha.

Welcome to Khoomei.com, buddy. Do share with the people here some of your throat singing. I think it's quite good. (I know him from elsewhere and have heard it...) ;)

Thanx man, nice meet you.
Sure I will, I'm working with friend of mine on kind of new age composition, using Khoomei, Khomus and Turkish Baghlama (Saz).

Please tell me who do I've gotta kill to get "Will teach" album ))))
